THE BIKER

Motor biking has always been considered a dangerous leisure activity to pursue and moreover, it has always been frowned upon when it is chosen by a woman. During the initial course of the new century, a group of gutsy women broke all the typecasts in all the right ways. A number of rider’s group led by women started mushrooming around different parts of the country. The groups eventually transformed into communities, undertaking the task of empowering womanhood. The strength and dedication they show towards their passion of motor-biking, urges the society to respect and offer the recognition they deserve.

Travelling and riding has always been one of the few passions that holds a special place in my heart. As a child, I have always admired riders, irrespective of the gender. A journey on a motorcycle around India, is by far one of the best ways to explore the land, rich culture and the adventures our incredible country has to offer. Though it might not be the safest means of travel one would like to choose, it is definitely the best possible way to get as close to the nature as possible and explore the nook and corners of any given place.

The photograph of the rider is that of a woman, thriving with wanderlust and wants to explore what the life of a motorbike rider has to offer. The curious mind is relentless to find out what the nature around her has to offer. She carries an attire of a bold rider and commands attention with her style. She is seen donning an Alpine Star black jacket by Quechua, with a slim fit black jean, paired up with a Half Finger Rivets and Puma sport shoe. The look is rounded up with the helmet “ls2”. The artist and the activist in her becomes complete as she takes to the roads less travelled
